U2 Gigging and Wakeboarding

A different rock... Catch my drift?

A couple of Saturdays evenings ago, ¾ of JetPilot went out to experience a Rock of a different kind in Brakpan.  Francois couldn’t make it – some excuse about Blue Bulls rugby and other stuff --  , but his brother could hence the ¾ .  "The Rock" we were to experience was none other than "The Rock" raceway, site of a “sideways drifting competition”.

Ironing Maiden

Dennis sent us the above photo with the caption. It got me to thinking about the time I was a young metal head, and how I thought that Iron Maiden posters where cool mainly because they would shock my parents, and I would say

Mom: “What is that evil looking thing waving a flag dear?”

Me: “that’s JUST Eddie MOM.”

Mom: “Who is Eddie, some kind of demon?”

Durex - Bands Battling

Oops ... I was supposed to have posted this sooner than I did. Anyway, here goes. So what happened in the band during the eventful month of November? Well due to a stray memo that took on a life of its own, somehow the band – in fit of unfocused-ness – decided that it would be a good idea to play in the Durex ultimate Battle of the Bands )this in spite of the fact that we have loads of work to do on the album).

Divine Intervention

It’s been an interesting month with a gig at the Bohemian in Joburg, a broken guitar and some radio play in Port Elizabeth.

JetPilot Chord Signs

In the interests of working on our album we got together this Saturday to experiment with drum recording techniques. Dennis has some new and interesting ideas on how we can get really great  sounding drums, which we are always keen to try out. The one is called Front side mid and the other is something called Glynn John’s technique.

Sholto's Meat Grinder

So, what has been happening in the band of late? Well, we continue to plan our album and, surprise surprise, we had a gig at Back2Basix.
